The Eastbourne Volunteers project aims to encourage people to volunteer and make social activities more accessible to all residents of Eastbourne.
ward co-ordinator roles
We will be creating a new ‘ward coordinator’ role in the nine wards of Eastbourne, and these coordinators will map all of the clubs, groups and organisations active in their wards.
The information collated will be used to make sure this website is a ‘shopfront’ for community activity in Eastbourne, which will make it easy for residents to find out what is happening and how they can get involved, either just for fun or as a volunteer.
We have also opened a Community Hub in the heart of Eastbourne town centre, at 1 The Labyrinth, 7 Mark Lane, Eastbourne, BN21 4RJ. From here we will recruit volunteers, offer information to the public on community organisations, offer a registered address, mail forwarding and ‘hot desk’ service to community groups and we will also use it for events.
new community newspaper for eastbourne!
We have also launched a new community newspaper for Eastbourne.
The newspaper aims to match the production values that you see in mainstream newspapers, and contains regular columns from The Mayor of Eastbourne, Stephen Lloyd and volunteer Sunny Soleil, news from local groups, clubs and organisations as well as a social media round-up and and details of local events.
