Anderida Writers – is a small and friendly group, open to writers of all levels and ages. There are monthly meetings and social functions, guest speakers, workshops, critique meetings and advice for those who want to write for fun. There is also an annual competition and they recommend or introduce writers to publishers. Full membership costs £26 per annum, payable in April, but newcomers can attend meetings as guests for up to five times at £4 per visit.

Bourne to Write – a writing community based in East Sussex. At their weekly creative writing workshops you can learn how to nurture your imagination while making new friends in a creative environment. The weekly workshops take a student-centred approach to creative writing, offering a range of strategies to help you develop as a writer. Participants are encouraged to explore their creative writing potential through self-awareness and self-discovery. The workshops are suitable for aspiring writers of all levels and abilities and for anyone with a strong interest in reading and writing, who would like to deepen their understanding of the creative process.
The workshops’ first anthology – ‘Strangers in Paradise’, featuring the work of 26 Bourne to Write writers was launched at the Eastbourne Arts Festival at The Lamb in Old Town Eastbourne in May 2014. All proceeds from the book have been donated to local charities, including the Eastbourne Pier Benevolent Fund. Strangers in Paradise is now available on amazon worldwide as a Kindle book.
Every Wednesday Evening: 7.30 – 10pm at the St John’s Parish Hall, Meads and every Friday Afternoon: 2.30- 5pm The Lamb, High Street, Old Town, Eastbourne. 10 Workshop sessions cost £120 which includes weekly online tutoring. New Eastbourne Writers – a friendly, informal writing group who welcome writers of all abilities, genres, fiction and non-fiction. Meetings are on an ad-hoc, pay as you go basis with no membership, just sharing the cost of the venue. E: email@example.com

Inkspot – writing group in Pevensey Bay that meets on the first Friday of every month at 6.30pm at Pevensey Bay Baptist Church, Eastbourne Rd. It is a groups for all ages and interests and everybody is welcome, whether you are a writer or not. You can submit your stories and poems to be read if you wish, and the evening is spent listening to work written and read by local people. Entry is £2 which includes refreshments. Listeners are welcome as much as writers!
